Lily's Journey
In 2025, at 32 years old, my life changed when I was diagnosed with breast cancer. What followed was one of the hardest seasons I’ve ever faced—six surgeries, sixteen rounds of chemotherapy, and twenty-five rounds of radiation. It tested me physically, mentally, and emotionally in ways I never could have imagined. Through it all, horses remained my constant. The barn became my place of peace, healing, and purpose. Even on the hardest days, being around horses reminded me who I am and why I do what I do. They carried me through a season that could have easily taken everything from me. Despite treatment, I continued to ride, train, and compete. Returning to the arena was never about proving anything—it was about showing myself and others that hard seasons don’t get the final say. I was honored to qualify for both the Arkansas Rodeo Association Finals and the Arkansas Cowboys Association Finals, milestones that meant even more after everything I had endured. Kick’em in the shin and run.
